What is Biosecurity?

Biosecurity is defined as actions undertaken to prevent the introduction of disease.

At Cobb, we take biosecurity very seriously because we know it is directly linked to the health and well-being of our chickens. It can also help keep our team members safe from disease.

What We Do

We continuously evaluate and incorporate new technology and methods at our facilities and within our quality assurance programs.

From required disinfection of the interior and exterior of all Cobb trucks, to mandatory showers for all personnel entering our farms and hatcheries, to obligatory boot and hand sanitation measures, our chickens enjoy a very protected life in a safe and biosecure environment.

This is important for the lives of our chickens and for the future of the global poultry industry that depends on the health and well-being of Cobb chickens.

"The need for biosecurity never ends. Our stringent biosecurity programs, along with good flock management and frequent health monitoring, help facilities remain disease-free."

"Uncompromising biosecurity is a critical component to Cobb’s ability to achieve genetic progress in our products, to secure an uninterrupted supply chain, and to distribute poultry to more than 120 countries worldwide. We follow strict biosecurity principles each and every day and believe that regular team member biosecurity training is essential to the health and welfare of our birds."
